Trebbiano is a grape variety grown in many, many locations. As you can guess from its name, Trebbiano Toscano grapes are grown in the famous Italian region of Tuscany. The region is famous, the grapes are not. And most likely the ensuing wine is undistinguished.
Don't be disappointed if your favorite grape variety is part of this list. What we are trying to do is make it easier for you to find information on a given grape variety. What is famous is a matter of opinion. Virtually everyone agrees that Chardonnay is famous, and Carignan is not. But sometimes lesser-known varieties can produce excellent wines. Be sure to check out our section on Italian grape varieties. I have had some great wines from indigenous varieties whose names I can't even pronounce.
