Apulia in southwestern Italy is one of the country's most prolific wine-producing regions. It has 25 DOC wines but less than 4% of its wine production is classified as DOC. The region is mostly fertile plains, that is part of the problem. Apulia makes quite a few rosés, some of which are said to be good or better.
