Nike Flyknit 3.0 WomensWhen it started, after a couple previous flare ups, Lugnuts catcher Matt Mauck (later Nick Saban's national championship quarterback at LSU, and a guy who was ejected earlier in the game) put on Zambrano's jersey and joined the fray. I watched him do it and I wrote it, and that detail proved important. The team's manager, Oscar Acosta, was furious when he read it. After doing a massive line of cocaine, Bias began talking to his teammate Terry Long. He then leaned back on his couch and started going into seizures. After having no success in reviving Bias, the paramedics put his body in the ambulance and sped off to Leland Memorial Hospital in Riverdale, MD. And while it's true the Warriors own the NBA's best record over the past 21/2 seasons, it was the Cavs who beat them when it mattered most, in June. And of course Cleveland won again on Christmas, coming back from 14 points down to win 109 108 on Kyrie Irving's late jumper. Monday at Oracle Arena, it will be the NBA leading Warriors (34 6) against the East leading Cavs (29 10) in the latest iteration of a rivalry. UFC 218: 8 talking points as Max Holloway and Francis Ngannou shone in DetroitFor one night at least the world of MMA wasn't focused on the latest actions of a certain Irishman13:10, 3 DEC 2017Francis Ngannou of Cameroon (Image: Zuffa LLC) With one title fight and several other match ups with future title fight implications, UFC 218 didn't fail to create a number of talking points and here's what everyone will be talking about in the days to come.1 Max Holloway fast building a legacy History repeated itself last evening when for the second time this year, Max Holloway stopped Jose Aldo in the dying seconds of the third round.Holloway simply looked a cut above his Brazilian challenger and even when he briefly came under threat from some stinging leg kicks and counters in round two, Holloway bit down on his gumshield and just picked up the pace even more.It was a special performance from the Hawaiian and he's fast creating a legacy that could see him one day considered as one of the great MMA fighters at 145 pounds. With two wins over Aldo this year, it's time to put the feud to rest and to move on and face Frankie Edgar next year. That should by all counts be an amazing fight and it would be silly to bet against Holloway who now holds a record 12 fight win streak.2 The curtain call for Jose Aldo? Jose Aldo gave everything he had last night against Max Holloway, but his best was nowhere near enough and he suffered his second beatdown of the year at the hands of the Hawaiian.Aldo, to his great credit, took the fight on short notice after an injury to Holloway's originally scheduled opponent, Frankie Edgar, but regardless last night could have been his final shot at ever holding UFC gold again. With another shot at the featherweight title unlikely, Aldo could move up to lightweight but he will be extremely undersized. One real option now for Aldo is to get out the game relatively unscathed and hang up the 4 oz gloves while he's still considered one of the greatest.Given the competitor we all know him to be though, it's unlikely he exits the sport like that so don't be surprised to see him back in the Octagon sometime in 2018.3 Francis Ngannou is the next very big thing Heavyweight Francis Ngannou last night showed the world that he's the real deal and he did it in scary fashion.Ngannou took on seasoned veteran Alistair Overeem in co main of the evening and it took him barely two minutes to finish the fight. The ending came when Ngannou landed a left uppercut flush on the chin of the Dutchman who was rendered immediately unconscious on impact.Ngannou landed another brutal hammer fist to the lifeless looking Overeem as he lay on the mat, but luckily the referee dove in before further damage could be dealt. It was scary knockout, but one that cements Ngannou as the next challenger to the current UFC heavyweight champion, Stipe Miocic. In a time when the UFC desperately need more stars outside of Conor McGregor, Ngannou seems like he's the man to step up to the plate.4 Eddie Alvarez and Justin Gaethje brought the house down Many thought that the lightweight fight between Eddie Alvarez and Justin Gaethje could be something special and it didn't disappoint. Both men came out the gates swinging and it was Gaethje with his typical forward pressuring style that had Alvarez on the back foot in the early exchanges.Gaethje's thudding leg kicks put money in the back very early on and by the midpoint of the opening round, Alvarez's left leg was giving out and it plagued him for the rest of the fight. The "Underground King" landed frequently to the body though and by the end of round one, Alvarez had slowed Gaethje down significantly..
